The Knight-Hennessy Scholars program at Stanford University cultivates a diverse, multidisciplinary community of emerging leaders from around the world and guides them to collaborate, innovate, and communicate as they prepare to address the complex challenges facing society.
What the Scholarship Covers
The Knight-Hennessy Scholars program provides unparalleled financial support. If selected, scholars receive:
- Full Tuition and Fees: Coverage for any graduate degree program at Stanford (e.g., JD, MA, MBA, MD, MS, or PhD).
- Living Stipend: A generous allowance for living and academic expenses (such as room and board, books, academic supplies, instructional materials, local transportation, and reasonable personal expenses).
- Travel Stipend: An annual economy-class travel grant for one round-trip ticket to and from Stanford.
- Additional Funding: Access to supplemental funds to support academic endeavors, such as conference travel.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to apply for the 2027 cohort, applicants must meet the following core requirements:
- First Bachelor's Degree: You must have earned your first undergraduate degree within the last seven years (typically January 2020 or later for the 2027 intake).
- Stanford Admission: You must be applying to enroll in a full-time Stanford graduate degree program or be currently enrolled in your first year of a Stanford PhD program.
- Nationality: Open to citizens of all countries. There are no quotas or restrictions based on nationality.
Application Process
Applying to Knight-Hennessy Scholars is a dual process. You must apply separately to the specific Stanford graduate degree program you wish to pursue and to the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program. Both applications must be submitted by their respective deadlines.
