The UNICEF Internship Programme offers eligible students and recent graduates the opportunity to acquire direct practical experience in UNICEF's work under the direct supervision of experienced UNICEF staff. Opportunities are available worldwide in various fields, including child protection, education, emergency response, communication, and supply chain management.
Unlike many UN internships in the past, UNICEF now provides financial support to its interns, ensuring that talented individuals from all backgrounds can contribute to their mission of protecting children's rights globally.
Financial Support & Benefits
- Stipend: UNICEF provides a monthly stipend to interns. The amount varies depending on the duty station to help cover accommodation, meals, and basic living expenses.
- Travel: A one-time lump sum is provided to contribute towards travel costs (flights) and visa application fees for interns traveling from outside the duty station.

Eligibility Criteria
- Academic Status: You must be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or PhD degree program, or have graduated within the past two years.
- Performance: Excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university/education records.
- Language: Proficient in at least one of UNICEF's working languages: English, French, or Spanish. Fluency in the working language of the specific office you are applying to is required.
- Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
