University of Hong Kong HKU CDS Internship 2026 (Fully Funded)

Applications are open for the University of Hong Kong HKU CDS Internship 2026, a fully funded international research internship hosted by the Centre for Data Science (CDS) at the University of Hong Kong. The internship aims to provide undergraduate students from around the world with exposure to postgraduate-level research and hands-on experience working on research projects under the supervision of HKU faculty members. The program also helps students gain insight into HKU’s research postgraduate programs. The internship duration is 7 weeks and will run from July 19 to August 31, 2026. Approximately 50 outstanding students will be selected for the program. There is no application fee. Program Details Host Country: Hong Kong Location: University of Hong Kong Internship Duration: 7 Weeks Internship Period: July 19 to August 31, 2026 Number of Interns: 50 Program Type: Fully Funded Financial Benefits Each selected intern will receive a stipend of HK$19,601 to cover: - Airfare tickets - Accommodation - Meals - Living expenses - Visa costs, if applicable Eligibility Criteria - Open to applicants from all nationalities - Current Year 2 or Year 3 undergraduate students - Studying Computer Science, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related discipline - Applicants from universities in Mainland China, Hong Kong, or overseas institutions Visa Information Admitted students must apply for a training visa through the Hong Kong Immigration Department. A supporting letter from the applicant’s home institution is required, confirming institutional support for the training at HKU and the student’s return to studies after completion.
