If you are an undergraduate or master's student in Applied Physics, Engineering, or Computing, this is your chance to spend up to a year at CERN, the birthplace of the World Wide Web and home to the Large Hadron Collider.
The CERN Technical Student Programme is not a typical internship; you will be working on real-world, high-impact projects alongside some of the greatest scientific minds on the planet. This program is designed to give you practical experience that perfectly complements your university studies.
Financial Support & Benefits
CERN provides an incredibly generous package to ensure you can live comfortably in Geneva:
- Stipend: A tax-free allowance of 3,452 Swiss Francs (CHF) per month.
- Travel Allowance: A lump sum paid to assist with your travel to and from Geneva.
- Family Supplement: Additional funding if you are married or have children.
- Insurance: Comprehensive health insurance provided by CERN.
- Leave: 2.5 days of paid leave per month.
Eligibility Criteria
- You must be a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
- You must have completed at least 18 months of your undergraduate studies (Bachelor's or Master's) at the time of the next selection committee.
- You must remain registered as a full-time student at your university for the duration of the internship.
- You must have a good knowledge of English or French.
